Third Kimono Jack in UK

Hello everyone,

I can't believe that this past weekend we had our THIRD Kimono Jack event in UK! You might ask where are the photos from our SECOND Kimono Jack, and I will tell you that this past few weeks I've been slacking significantly.... so I promise to be a good organizer and post them very soon.

This time the road took us to Birmingham for their annual Christmas Frankfurt Market. We walked around, had some German sausage, I had a nice cup of mulled wine, and generally had lots and lots of fun.

We even had few new people join in. I'm hoping we will see these ladies again at the future KDJ events.

One of the wonderful things about Christmas Markets is that we get to try a lot of different foods. These here are Dutch pancakes.

The January KDJ will be held in London on January 22nd. We have not worked out the details as to where to meet and what to do, but I will update as soon as I know.

November Kimono de Jack in London

Kimono de Jack events are becoming more and more popular in Japan, spreading from Kyoto to Tokyo and other prefectures. But Japan is not the only one country that could have Kimono Jack, after all the essence of Kimono de Jack is to create more reasons to wear kimono for kimono lovers.

The very first Kimono de Jack in United Kingdom was held on October 23rd in London. Five kimono enthusiasts came to support the event, sporting gorgeous kimono and practical raincoats. It did not rain right away, but when it finally did everyone were very happy to have them on. Please check out the details of event here:

First Kimono de Jack outside of Japan

Now that the very FIRST Kimono de Jack in UK officially happened, it's time to take a deep breath, relax, and start posting about it right?

Yesterday was a historical day in life of UK kimono lovers and Trafalgar Square became the meeting place for the very FIRST Kimono de Jack outside of Japan. Five kimono enthusiasts meet up there at 11 am to promote and enjoy wearing kimono.

We walked around National Gallery a little, then went to to our favorite Piccadilly Circus area and finally got lunch at SO Restaurant (which was super yummy and reasonably priced). After lunch some of us went to get ice cream at Häagen-Dazs, the best ice cream place in the world if you ask me :)

Next Kimono de Jack will be on November 13th, at Camden Market.

First Kimono de Jack tomorrow!!!

Are any of you as excited as I am? And I'm VERY excited :) :) I'm looking forward to tomorrow because Kimono de Jack will be held for the first time outside of Japan.

If you are in the area, come to Trafalgar Square at 11am and hang out with us. Wear kimono if you have one, but if you don't we will get you addicted in no time!

It will be FUN!

London Japan Matsuri 2010

London Japan Matsuri 2010 happened this weekend. It was bigger and better than last year, especially since the event used up the whole Spitafields Market. It sure got crowded fast though, because those 30,000 people that came last year came again and brought friends!

This year there were many people in kimono again. Some were yukata, and some were in fully lined kimono. At first I thought those in yukata will get cold, but crowds made it very hot so I think those people were the most comfortable. :)

Meanwhile, I'm planning on holding the first Kimono de Jack on October 23rd, and 2nd on November 13th. Details to follow. :)
